Be French during the Edinburgh Festival...
All right, at last back from my holiday in France, where I spent the 14 juillet in a small town of the Loire Valley ... And at last I have a bit of time to update the blog, in particular with regards to the Festival...
I don't think I have managed to note everything that's French yet, but I guess you will find here quite a good selection!
I am in particular very impressed at the Film Festival's selection (French and otherwise actually!), so you will probably find me lurking around some cinemas in the last two weeks of August!)
As for music, I will try and go to Piaf, and also Madeleine Peyroux - she has an incredible voice, that reminds me of Billie Holiday... Absolutely must-see, I think!
Theatre - I would be quite keen to see The Maids (an adaptation of GenĂȘt's Les Bonnes), as well the adaptation of Maupassant...
Finally, delighted to see some fab exhibitions also on the menu, with Gauguin & al. featured at the Royal Scottish Academy, and a personal favourite in terms of photography at the Dean Gallery: Henri Cartier-Bresson...
pff - so much to see, listen and look at... August is likely to pass very quickly indeed!!!!
