Bicycle Men - Perrier nominee?!?

So, we're about half-way through our Festival French classes, and I can say that I have been enjoying it very much: first of all, the pleasure to go and see French related shows that I would probably not been to otherwise; and also, the discussions and friendly arguments after the shows...

The first week proved a complete success as everyone really enjoyed discovering French music and laughing it off with comedy.

Last week was more controversial: half the group liked the show (Bicycle Men), the other half profusely hated it... with a couple of our group actually walking off!!

Sadly I am in the second category, though I stayed until the end! I thought it was very unfunny, the gags were obvious and crude (the scatology in particular I found vulgar and completely unnecessary), the story was hanging in there by a pig's hair... In short, I cannot understand how this pathetic excuse of a show can actually be the object of so much interest...

I'd like to say I felt vexed at the jokes made at the expenses of my compatriotes... But that's not even the case... It may be, in fact, revealing of a deeper cultural difference than I ever suspected existed... As far as I am concerned I certainly hope they will not even get nominated...

In any case, here is one very positive review of the show...

Any (+ or -) feedback about the show would be indeed very welcome....
