Out of luck today...
There are days, like that when you'd be better off not getting out of bed!!!
Today is like that for me: sadly, the 2 shows I had planned to see today (Le Cid and Piaf) have both been cancelled... Boohoo... Pas de chance!!! I am particularly annoyed at the Piaf one as it's part of my French Festival programme... With a bit of luck we'll manage to rearrange it for some time next week...
Anyway, I have not yet reported on the weird and wonderful Legend of Perseus, which bundle-of-love and myself went to see yesterday morning.

It is (again!) by no means French-related (even weakly...) but it is such a wonderful show for children and adults alike that I cannot help recommend it here!
The advert stated that the performer (Adam Bampton-Smith) was able to play 26 characters on his own. I was slightly dubious and verging on the cynical, and initially thought this was oging to be some soppy amateurish non-sense. Non only was I utterly wrong, but I felt the show was very touching and evocative for various reasons.
The show starts with Adam Bampton-Smith looking through his grand-father's possessions in an attic, a few weeks after the grand-father's death. He starts reminiscing about his grand-father through the various objects, banal, weird or wonderful - every adult will certainly remember such a moving experience of handling those everyday objects, full of memories.
Then, the actor takes a book and starts recounting the story of Perseus - using as props various objects, including a Barbie doll with strange hair who incarnates the gorgon (you should have heard the cheers when Perseus decapitated the gorgon, brandishing her head proudly in the air...) (that was by the way b-o-l's favourite moment!!)
Anyway, would recommend to anyone to go on to the Pleasance to see this extremely good and funny show (it's on at 11.30am, and there is a bit of everything for everyone...)

Just found your site by chance. I really enjoyed the show as well, even if it seemed a bit amateur to start with.
