Tall Stories

I have been following theatre company Tall Stories for the past 3 years or so, ever since I saw their excellent Gruffalo.
For those not in the know, they specialise in children's theatre (which is why I went to see them with my alibi yesterday afternoon...)
What I did not know (so much) was that they were linked to the British Guide to French Pop I happily (and enthusiastically) reviewed a couple of weeks ago. I came face to face with Morag once again and could only hope she didn't think I was stalking her, especially after bumping into her at the Fringe Party... Spooky!

Anyway, really enjoyed the Snow Dragon, as a vector for tolerance in beliefs all round. My alibi understood well what it was all about as he replied to my (somewhat naive verging on stupid) question of 'So what do you believe in? The Snow Dragon? The Snow Unicorn? The Snow Goblin?', I got the answer 'er, I believe in Santa'... Of course he does) (That may teach me)

Anyway, as usual with Tall Stories, they managed to conjure up a wealth of stories through a minimal amount of inexpensive props... Very expressive and very enjoyable for most ages (nice references/clins d'oeil to parents) although youngest children seemed terrified by the wolves.

What really sold it to me though was that my sophisticated, computer-bred, animation-fed 8 year-old really wanted to guess what was in the parcel*. And he really did. And he also wanted to feel the parcel. And he got really frustrated when he couldn't because the girl next to him had got there first. Och well... There is still hope for imagination, then!! Yay!

*I guess you have to be there to know what I am referring to!!!!
