Fringed!
I have been meaning to put some real content to those pages, as this blog is really beginning to look like a spammer's paradise with all my notices about my classes... However, this week so far has been quite surreal, no less due to the fact I thought it would be a really good idea to celebrate the end of the Fringe Festival with my friend Rob on Sunday, by going to see PamAnn (now that was a good idea, as she was incredibly funny, and reminded me why you really shouldn't take a small child to sit in the first row at stand-up comedy!).
Anyway, after this, we ended up at the last of Spank! at the Underbelly, which was really quite entertaining (good variety of shows and also (male) nudity - which may or may not be a bonus depending on the individuals involved...) (oh, fine, and also quite a bit of Irish beverage was consumed, which probably facilitated the whole thing...)
And then we found ourselves having coq-au-vin and wine in my kitchen at 6am. That's right. 6am. Coq-au-vin. Wine. And Hubby getting up and all... The shame of it all!
Anyway, it destined my week to be somehow under the sign of jetlag as I struggled to finish a translation on Monday night at 4am, and another one on Tuesday night at 2am. And here I am now, and I cannot remember if it is Thursday or Friday... (I kind of hope this is Thursday, as I had to hand back one of the wonderful translations on Thursday - and would be in a mass of trouble if I missed the deadline!!!)
Apart from that, yesterday had its share of drama, as bundle-of-love was (very) late coming back from school - ended up having to go to Elephant House (coffee house on George the Fourth) where b-o-l was waiting for someone to rescue him as he had lost his money for the bus... The young fool was offered some money by one of the other Mums from school but declined (!!!) as in his own words:
"I was told not to accept money from strangers."
Groumph.
With my natural optimism, I had envisaged far sinister implications to his delay... Anyway, he is now fully equipped with a bus pass so this should be the end of that. We hope.
Ah the joys & wonders of the world of parenthood will never cease to amaze me.
