FRENCH ELEMENTARY (1) 1
INTRODUCTIONS Introductions – questionnaire (Revising questions + basic verbs). Talking about oneself: tastes, habits and work. (basic verbs) Basically, we started our lesson last week by a brief introduction about my favourite topic (myself!), and then quickly revised how to ask basic (indiscrete!) questions to get to know more about someone (p2 of the Dossier). Then, we started to talk about good resolutions, which was as good an opportunity as another to revise the present conjugation of the verb aller (to go), that we can use to express near future (p3 of the Dossier). As I am not myself terribly good in terms of good resolutions… I cannot but be sympathetic to your homework plea, and suggest you get creative to say “what you are going to do”, and “what you’re not going to do anymore”… Oh, and I looked up ‘pilates’… surprise surprise: ‘le pilates’ it is in French!! Ha ha ha! NB : Aileen suggested that I could provide you with ideas about guessing French words from English words (eg: extraordinary --- extraordinaire), so I have been working on this and should be able to suggest a number of rules on Tuesday! A bientôt! DEVOIRS Bonnes résolutions Read the text “Pendant les vacances”, but just generally – we’ll have a look at it together! VOCABULAIRE Regarder Nager Directeur / directrice de projets A tes souhaits ! Le documentaire La poule Le poulet Le truc arrêter de fumer perdre du poids faire plus de sport aller à la piscine manger moins de chocolat boire moins de bière aller au théâtre sortir plus voyager plus
